A lot of time has passed since the first cinema show hosted by the Lumiere brothers. Movies first got sound, and then color. In recent decades, the technologies that are used in the filming of movies are developing rapidly. During these years, tens of thousands of films were shot, a whole galaxy of brilliant directors and talented actors was born.
Most of the movies that were made over the past century, have long been forgotten and interesting except to film critics and film historians. But there are pictures that have forever entered the "golden" fund of cinema, they are still interesting to the viewer today and they are still being watched. There are hundreds of such films. They are shot in different genres, different directors, at different intervals. However, there is one thing that unites them: they make the viewer completely immersed in the reality that lives before him on the screen. A real movie created by a master of his craft is always a different reality, which draws the viewer like a vacuum cleaner and makes you forget about everything for a while.

The Green Mile
This film was released in 1999, it is based on one of the best works by Stephen King. The director of the picture was Frank Darabont.
This film tells the story of a suicide bomber in an American prison. The story told in the film takes place in the early 30-ies of the last century. It contains people sentenced to death, in the near future they are waiting for an electric chair and they will go to the place of their execution on a green mile.
In one of the cells is a very unusual prisoner - a black giant named John Coffey. He is accused of murder and rape of two little girls. However, later it turns out that this person is innocent, in addition, he has paranormal abilities - he can treat people. However, he must accept death for a crime that he did not do.
The main character of the film is the chief of this unit - the police officer Paul. John Coffey cures him of a serious illness and Paul strives to understand his business. When he realizes that John is innocent, then he faces a difficult choice: to commit a misdemeanor or to execute an innocent person.
The picture makes you think about eternal human values, about what awaits us all after the expiration of life.

This is a brilliant film, it was shot by one of the most famous directors of our time - Steven Spielberg.
The plot of this film is the fate of a major German industrialist Oscar Schindler. The plot unfolds during the World War. Schindler is a big businessman and a member of the Nazi Party, but he saves thousands of doomed Jews. He organizes several enterprises and employs only Jews. He spends his personal money in order to redeem and save as many prisoners as possible. During the war, this man saved 1200 Jews.
The film received seven Oscar awards.

Captain John Miller receives an unusual and difficult task: he and his unit must find and evacuate rank-and-file James Ryan. The military leadership decides to send the soldier home, to his mother.
At the time of this mission, John Miller himself and all the fighters of his unit are dying, but they manage to fulfill their task.
This film raises the question of the value of human life, even during the war, when it would seem that this value is zero. In the film, a beautiful ensemble of actors, magnificent special effects, brilliant work of the operator was picked up. Some viewers call the excessive pathos of the picture and excessive patriotism, but, in any case, "Saving Private Ryan" - this is one of the best films about the war.

This film was shot in the USSR in the late 80-ies of the last century. The director of the picture is Vladimir Bortko. The script is based on the same novel by Mikhail Bulgakov.
If Western cinema is strong with its special effects, stunts and huge budget films, the Soviet cinema school usually focused on acting and directing."Dog Heart" - this is a great film, which is made according to the genius work of the great master. He raises acute universal human questions and severely criticizes that monstrous social experiment that was begun in Russia after 1917, cost the country and the world millions of human lives.
The plot of the picture is this: in the 1920s, the brilliant surgeon Professor Preobrazhensky sets a unique experiment. He transplants the normal mongrel dog with human organs, and the dog begins to turn into a human.
However, this experience had the most unfortunate consequences: a person received such unnatural way turns into a complete scoundrel, but at the same time manages to make a career in Soviet Russia. The moral of this film is very simple - no revolution can turn an animal into a useful person for society. It can only do daily work and work on yourself. Bulgakov's book was banned in the USSR, the film could only be done before the very agony of the Soviet system. The film amazes the brilliant play of the actors: the role of Professor Preobrazhensky is, of course, the best role of the brilliant Soviet actor Yevgeny Evstigneev.

This cult is a fantastic story, the first part of which appeared on the screen in 1984.After that, four films were shot, but the most popular are the first two parts, which were created by director James Cameron.
This is a story about the world of the distant future, in which people survived a nuclear war and are forced to fight against evil robots. Machines send back to the robot-killer, who must destroy the mother of the future leader of the resistance. The people of the future managed to send back a defending soldier. The film raises many topical issues of modern society: the danger of creating artificial intelligence, the possible threat of the beginning of a global nuclear war, the issues of the fate of man and his free will. The role of the killer-terminator was played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In the second part of the film, the machine is once again sent back to the murderer, but now his goal is a teenage boy who must lead people into battle against robots. People again send a defender, now it becomes a robot-terminator, which again plays Schwarzenegger. In the opinion of critics and viewers, the second part of this film turned out to be even better than the first( which is quite rare).
James Cameron created a real world in which the struggle between good and evil is, and people must defend their world. Later, several more films were made about robot terminators( the fifth film is expected in 2015), but they no longer had the popularity of the first parts.

This is a bright and colorful story that describes the events that took place in the New World from the XVI-XVIII century. With a real story, films have a rather weak connection, but immerse us in the unique romance of sea adventures, boarding fights in powder smoke, pirate treasures hidden in remote and mysterious islands.

One of the best films ever made. His director was James Cameron. This fantastic film completely takes the viewer to another world, which is at a distance of tens of light years from our planet. When creating this picture, the latest achievements of computer graphics were used. The budget of the picture has exceeded 270 million dollars, but the general collections of this film are already more than 2 billion dollars.
The protagonist of the film is chained to a wheelchair because of a wound. He receives an invitation to participate in a special scientific program on the planet Pandora.
The Earth is on the verge of an ecological catastrophe. Humanity is forced to seek resources outside its planet. On Pandora was discovered a rare mineral, which is very necessary to earthlings. For a few people( including Jack), special bodies have been created - the avatars they must manage. On the planet lives a tribe of Aborigines, who is not enthusiastic about the activities of earthlings. Jack must study the natives better. However, events do not develop at all as the invaders planned.
Usually in movies about the contact of earthlings and aliens, aliens show aggression to the inhabitants of the Earth, and they have to defend themselves with all their might. In Cameron's picture, everything is exactly the opposite: the earthlings are cruel colonizers, and the natives are defending their home.
This film is very beautiful, the operator's work is impeccable, the actors play well, and the script, thought out to the smallest detail, takes us to the magical world.

This magnificent trilogy is based on the immortal book of John Tolkien. The trilogy includes three films. All three parts were shot by director Peter Jackson.

Despite the slightly frivolous genre of fantasy, this trilogy raises to the audience eternal questions: friendship and loyalty, love and true courage.
