The billionaire approached the acquisition of the family nest thoroughly. Since 2003, Mark Zuckerberg has rented a mansion near Facebook's Silicon Valley headquarters. Almost immediately after that, the founder of the social network decided to buy the family estate.
The billionaire's new home is located just a 10-minute walk from the office in Palo Alto, in the heart of Silicon Valley. The mansion is adjacent to a small well-groomed area of 22 sq. m.
The mansion's façade is clad in natural wood, painted with matt white paint. A large veranda was built on the first floor, on which a relaxation area was equipped with comfortable armchairs and a solid wood tea table. The central entrance with a monolithic staircase is decorated with decorative aged bricks.
House with an area of 522 sq. m is fenced on all sides by a high fence entwined with weaving vines. The entrance area is framed by a massive arched double door made of fine wood. Small benches are installed between the structures for comfortable rest in the shade of trees.
Cozy kitchen
For the interior decoration of the house, Mark used exclusively natural materials. The floor in all rooms is covered with a polished board covered with protective compounds. The walls are painted with light paint.
In the kitchen, solid wood beams were fixed on the ceiling and the entire surface was painted with snow-white paint. Installed around the perimeter spot illumination, in addition, the working area is illuminated by elegant pendant lamps in the form of huge balls with diffused light.
For a spacious room, we chose corner set with an island of gentle mint hue. Furniture and table top are made of solid wood. A number of lockers were placed along the windows, built-in appliances were installed in the side cabinet, including two-compartment refrigerator. The large island serves as an additional work surface, and the family also loves to get together for breakfast here.
Modest living-dining room interior
The spacious living room is divided into two areas. For relaxation, we have arranged a comfortable corner near bio fireplaceset in a snow-white marble portal. A large sofa and armchairs with curly backs were placed in front of the hearth.
A coffee table with a round solid wood tabletop on a central leg was placed in the recreation area. An original accent was placed next to it - an antique chest with brass hinges. Open bookshelves were installed along the wall. Light up the space small desk lamp and LED lighting of the ceiling beams.
In the dining area, a large solid wood dining table with curly legs and comfortable chairs with high backs were placed. An old chest of drawers was placed near the wall, on the shelves of which serving dishes are stored. The space is illuminated by unusual trapezoidal lamps decorated with wooden slats.
Billionaire's ascetic study
On the second floor there are private rooms of the owners, nurseries and an office. The billionaire's workspace is pretty austere. There is a massive table made of natural wood next to large panoramic windows with a layout. In addition to the central lighting, Mark opted for a laconic floor lamp with a trapezoidal shade and an elegant table lamp in gilding.
There are nurseries next to the office. For their decoration, we chose pastel colors and snow-white solid wood furniture. Since the youngest girl is very small, a small sofa was temporarily placed in her room for her parents.
Elegant bathroom
The design of the bathroom is different from the general interior of the house. Light gray mosaic, wooden the walls were painted with snow-white paint. A designer bowl with a chrome-plated floor mixer was installed in front of the window.
Large solid wood bedside tables were placed along the walls. Integrated oval washbasins were installed on stone countertops. Mirror canvases were fixed on the upper modules and miniature sconces with fabric lampshades were hung on both sides. For window decoration we chose Roman curtains made of cotton fabric.
Home garden decoration
The backyard area is planted with a green lawn. Small flower beds and ornamental shrubs grow along the paths. For outdoor recreation, there is a playground by the pool. If you wish, you can hide from the bad weather or the hot sun in an open gazebo.
Summary
For the interior decoration, the couple chose a mix of styles. Indoors, you can observe both home Provence and Scandinavian design, there are even elements of minimalism. Mark and Priscilla surrounded themselves with comfortable and functional items. A smart electronic program called Jarvis, developed by a billionaire, is of great help.
