What are thermal panels
The material for insulation is relatively new, so it makes sense to understand its composition and properties.
So, heat panels are a two-layer building material. The main layer, which performs a heat-insulating function, is polyurethane foam or polystyrene foam.
If you will consider different bases when buying, then preference should be given to PPU, since this material it has excellent thermal insulation properties and some vapor permeability, which makes it an ideal option for the facade. At least the experience of our northern regions suggests that PU foam insulation shows excellent results.
For your information! Polyurethane foam with a density of 40 kg / m³ retains heat in the same way as a 30 cm brick wall.
The outer layer of thermal panels is a protective coating, tiles, which can vary in their composition. There are four main options:
If you choose which coating is better, then, of course, clinker or ceramic tiles are better and more durable, but they are also more expensive at a price.
The panels are connected by the tongue-and-groove method, and their installation is akin to playing jigsaw puzzles - it is not difficult.
Why choose heat panels for the facade
So why exactly they, and not something else? Let's start with the obvious: good looks.
The design options don't stop at brick. It can be various options for wild stone, antique blocks, or simply evenly painted flat panels.
The second reason for this choice can be safely called the excellent thermal insulation qualities of such a facade. Thanks to the tongue-and-groove connection, the cladding is monolithic, excluding any heat leakage and moisture penetration. You will appreciate the effect in winter and summer when you look at your heating and air conditioning bills.
And finally, the third reason to think about this type of facade decoration is the ease of installation. There is no need to do double work as with siding, i.e. do the crate and first lay insulation, and then sew up with siding.
And these are not all the advantages of heat panels. They will serve you for at least 30 years, and the facade is absolutely repairable, it makes sense to leave a few panels in reserve just in case for replacement.
And also - the weight of the panels is minimal, so that even a dilapidated building can be insulated with them without additional reinforcement. A facade with such a cladding does not need painting, it can be regularly washed with a jet from a hose, but such a need arises extremely rarely, since the coating does not retain dirt and dust anyway.
Issue price and installation features
Depending on the thickness of the insulation and the type of outer layer, the cost of the panels varies from 600 to 2000 rubles per square meter. The cheapest are flexible stone panels.
