Beruella

Beruella is the most premium beach resort in Sri Lanka. There are no guesthouses and, as a consequence, backpackers, but there are five-star hotels and expensive restaurants. On the beaches( they stretch from the city of Beruwella for more than 100 kilometers) - umbrellas, sun beds and tables, which are decorated dishes with fresh fruit. With many hotels, Ayurvedic and spa centers are open. In addition to Russians, rich families from India and the Netherlands often stay in Beruwelle( after all, Ceylon for a long time was a Dutch colony). The beaches here are wonderful: white sand, clear azure water and palm trees. By the way, the waves here are low, but the water is warm all year round.

7

Negombo

Negombo is a long, picturesque sandy and absolutely clean beach. A lot of comfortable hotels are built here and a lot of entertainment is offered, both on land and on water: windsurfing, diving and kite surfing. The latter is quite relevant, since the sea here is usually restless, wavy.

6

Arugam Bay

Arugam Bay is one of the best beach resorts in Sri Lanka. This is a great place to relax, which, moreover, is among the top ten places in the world for surfing. A huge sandy beach, safe even for inexperienced swimmers, extends to the high cliff of Crocodile Rock, from where you can often observe wild elephants. Arugam Bay is surrounded by jungles, close to the lakes and moist wetlands, due to which a special microclimate and a small amount of precipitation formed here.

5

Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa is a huge and beautiful beach, it consists of several conventional parts. You can swim on it, but not everywhere, because somewhere there are very large waves, joy for surfers, and somewhere there are fishing boats. The sand is wonderful, fluffy, the color of coffee with milk. Hikkawood is very clean. On the coastline, among the palms, are hotels and guesthouses, cafes and restaurants.

4

Dikwella

Dikvela is a small, but very picturesque beach in Sri Lanka. Dikvela - one of the most peaceful, idyllic beaches of the island, where do not mind getting married: the honeymoon will be stunningly beautiful and secluded. The length of the beach is 3 km. Beach Dickwell is one of those where it is convenient and nice to swim. The western part is best suited for this, since in the center the waves are comparatively large, and in the east there are many stones. Also here you can go scuba diving. In the homonymous village there are practically no large hotels: only one hotel complex and several guesthouses. Seafood dishes are prepared at local cafes. The whole southern coast is very picturesque, it is cut by bays of all stripes, sometimes rocky, on the shore there are big boulders, about which waves break.

3

Tangale

Tangale is one of the most beautiful beach places in the south, and although the resort is well known, it is never overpopulated by tourists. The beaches here are very beautiful and very deserted, and at times you might think that on a long coast no one but you is. But at the same time this is one of the most unsuccessful places for swimming because of the constant large waves, perhaps the most wavy in the whole south. This is just an ideal place for those who want only to enjoy the ocean and doing nothing, but active people here can seem very boring. The tourist infrastructure here is poorly developed. There are plenty of hotels here, but there is no separate tourist area. There are not many restaurants and cafes for tourists.

2

Mirissa

Mirissa is one of the three best beaches in Sri Lanka. Mirissa is very beautiful, here snow-white sand, palm trees hang over the ocean, green along the entire coast. The beach begins and ends with hills, as if restricting the territory. For walkers, it is possible to walk on foot in the direction of Matara, along the coastline for a very long time. On the way you will see two more coves with a more tranquil ocean, expensive hotels, a hill entirely consisting of iron ore. Just behind the hill is a village that is carved straight in this hill, all red.

1

Unawatuna

Unawatuna completes the rating of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. According to the Discovery Channel, this beach is among the top ten in the world. At the resort there are no large tourist complexes and fashionable hotels, most tourists here are "savages", coming for a month or more. It is absolutely safe for swimming: the entire coast is sandy, there are no strong currents, and the entrance to the sea is gentle. Once it was a wild beach, but the tourists quickly trod the path here, and in high season it's quite crowded. However, on the beach infrastructure this did not particularly affect. Of course, here there were some beach cafes, umbrellas and sunbeds for rent and even a shower and toilet. However, the feeling of "wild beach" is still preserved.
