Which is better: an air wash or a humidifier

Engineers have created many different devices and devices that allow to maintain optimal air parameters in homes, offices and industrial premises. We, the common people, got the most difficult task: to understand all this diversity.

Special interest of consumers is caused by the air humidifiers entering into fashion, namely advantages and disadvantages of separate versions of these devices. Often you can hear the question about which product to give preference to: air washing or a moisturizer of the usual type. Our article will help to make the right choice.

Air wash: open secrets

While the air washing and the classic humidifier( steam or ultrasonic) are designed to solve the same problem, the effect of these devices, according to users, is significantly different.

In a room where air washing is installed, it is much easier to breathe, there is no feeling of dampness and the air does not seem stagnant, as is often the case with a conventional humidifier. Such a high quality of air treatment became possible due to the fact that the creators of this device took care of three important aspects:

  • air purification, accompanying the process of humidification;
  • full circulation, in which the entire volume of room air is blown through the cleaning cartridges twice within an hour;
  • air saturation with moisture is carried out in the same way as in natural conditions, so the humidity remains at the optimum level without the use of sensors, sensors and automation.

Consider each point in more detail.

Moistening with cleaning

The name of the installation is not an allegory at all, it absolutely accurately characterizes its effect on the air in the room. A similar effect can be observed after the rain: the air is not only saturated with moisture, but also cleared of dust and other contaminants, becoming fresh and transparent, as if in the mountains.

Passing through the air sink, contaminants of large fractions( household or book dust, animal fur) settle on its wet discs, and then drain into the water tank. Minor pollution( pollen of plants, spores of fungi), the most dangerous for allergy sufferers, do not linger on the discs: the moist fog through which they pass makes them heavy and causes them to settle on the floor. The mistress will only have to do a wet cleaning to get rid of them forever.

In steam and ultrasonic humidifiers, the function of air purification is not realized, therefore they are much inferior to air washing in efficiency.

Air mixing

Air cleaning is free from the serious drawback inherent in conventional humidifiers: the water vapor it generates is distributed evenly in the room. To do this, the unit is equipped with a fan, the performance of which is clearly consistent with the volume of the room.

When buying an air wash, you should select the model so that its performance allows air to be pumped through the cartridge twice per hour. Due to the lack of such a mechanism, the air in a room with a conventional humidifier can often seem crusty and musty.

Natural evaporation process

The air-cleaning evaporator is designed in such a way that its operation is completely identical to the processes occurring in nature. The principles implemented in the installation, based on a number of physical laws, completely exclude the possibility of supersaturation of air with water vapor.

Due to this, the humidity level in the room always remains as comfortable as possible, ranging from 40% to 50%.At the same time, there is no need to apply control and measuring equipment and automation, as, for example, in ultrasonic humidifiers.

As can be seen from the above material, air washing is an improved type of humidifier and its advantages over conventional devices are quite obvious. This favorable picture is spoiled by only two circumstances: the high cost of installation and consumables, as well as its relatively large dimensions. In view of this, for premises with a small volume it is more justified to purchase a steam or ultrasonic humidifier.
