In 1988, in the litter of this pair, one strange kitten was discovered, which from the very beginning is distinguished by its miniature size and short tail. He received the nickname Kutsyi and became the founder of the new breed. And already in 1994 the preliminary standard of the new Scythian-tai-don breed was approved at the WCF expert-felinologist seminar from Russia and the CIS on aboriginal cat breeds in Russia. Initially, the breed was called Scythian-tai-to-dong, reflecting the origin and characteristics of the breed."Scythian" - for the appearance on the lands once inhabited by the Scythians, "Tai" - for appearance resembling a Thai cat, "Toy" - for its "toy" size( English toy - toy), "Don" - for the name of the river, on which there is a city that has become the birthplace of the breed. The international breed name is tobobob ( toybob), i.e.toy Bobtail.
